Can Homework Change Your Life?

I was recently reunited with a piece of homework I wrote aged 11 called The Manufacture of Toys, where I was surprised to find I pondered such lofty topics as market research, manufacturing, even average household spend.

Turns out I was particularly interested in the role of the Toy Inventor, and 33 years later, Here I am!

I was at my happiest as a child on long summer holidays, camping beside windswept sandy beaches in the North of Scotland. Sunny days playing football or jumping off sand dunes, or rainy days, when my parents would empty a pillowcase full of a well known plastic building toy into the small sleeping compartment of our tent and leave me to my own devices.

I’ve always been happiest either playing sport or being creative. I like to think of STEMZ as bringing these worlds together through facilitating more active creative play.

Back in 1988 I think I would have loved STEMZ.

Luckily, I went on to invent it anyway!
